Te Aponga Uira (TAU) is a government-owned utility responsible for generating, distributing and retailing electricity on the main island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands.

They have an opportunity for a Financial Controller to join their team.

The role is responsible for TAU’s:

• Financial planning and analysis

• Financial reporting including preparation of annual financial statements and budgets and monthly management accounts

• Assisting with business plans and strategic planning, implementation and monitoring of systems,

• Recommending changes in policies and procedures that will improve financial performance

• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

• Collaborating fully with TAU’s other divisional teams through consultation, cross divisional support and mentoring

The position reports to the CEO, and the Board of Directors as required.

The successful applicant will:

• Have excellent time management and problem-solving skills

• The ability to train and develop a team

• Provide motivation and guidance

• Have hands-on monitoring of performance along

• The ability to communicate at all levels with the different divisions throughout TAU

• Be a certified as a Chartered Accountant (or similar)

• Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position

• The ability to lead the financial, strategic direction for TAU
