McConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead site operations for projects based in Rarotonga. This is a senior site leadership role for someone who enjoys managing complex construction activities and supporting high-performing teams in a hands-on environment.
You’ll play a key role in overseeing day-to-day site delivery and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
About the Role
As Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing all site activities and supervising Supervisors, Foremen, and subcontractors. You’ll ensure resources are well managed, works are coordinated effectively, and project goals across safety, quality, programme, and cost are achieved.
You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and wider leadership team to maintain strong site performance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate all site construction activities
Lead and mentor Supervisors, Foremen, and site teams
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
Manage construction programme and site productivity
Coordinate plant, labour, and materials
Monitor performance and resolve site issues
Support planning, reporting, and risk management
Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners
About You
You’re a confident, experienced site leader who thrives in dynamic environments.
You will ideally bring:
Extensive experience in a Superintendent or senior site leadership role
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and site management
Proven ability to lead large teams and subcontractors
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
A strong safety-first culture
