McConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major infrastructure project in Cook Islands, Rarotonga. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on complex projects, strong stakeholder relationships, and building high-performing teams.
You’ll take ownership of project outcomes across safety, quality, programme, cost, and client satisfaction.
About the Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of large-scale projects, from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, manage key client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end project delivery across safety, quality, cost, and programme
Manage client relationships and act as the key point of contact
Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and schedules
Lead and mentor project teams including Engineers, Supervisors, and Foremen
Manage commercial performance, variations, and risk
Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and company requirements
Drive a strong safety culture and Zero Harm outcomes
Support tendering and business development activities where required
About You
You’re a confident leader with strong commercial acumen and a collaborative style.
You will ideally bring:
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
Extensive experience delivering major infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and contract management
Proven leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams
Excellent stakeholder and client management skills
High level of commercial and financial awareness
A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
