Are you passionate about responsible tourism and ready to drive meaningful change?
Te Mato Manava Turoto - Cook Islands Tourism Corporation (CIT) are seeking an experienced professional to lead two transformative workstreams:
WorkStream 1:
Destination Stewardship Plan (DSP) – Develop a strategic, country-wide framework for responsible tourism, aligned with the Cook Islands National Sustainable Development Agenda (NSDA2020+).
WorkStream 2:
Industry Standards Refresh (ISR) – Refresh existing operator certification programmes with emphasis on growing industry knowledge and capability in responsible tourism practices and showcasing operators who meet and exceed agreed standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and delivery of the DSP and ISR
Coordinate contracted suppliers to deliver key project components
Strengthen collaboration with stakeholders across public and private sectors
Provide training and support to tourism operators to adopt responsible practices
Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables across both workstreams
About You
Senior level with proven project management experience in tourism and/or sustainability sectors
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A passion for driving change and promoting responsible tourism
