Te Aponga Uira (TAU) is a government-owned utility responsible for generating, distributing and retailing electricity on the main island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. As such TAU is dedicated to delivering reliable and sustainable energy to the community of Rarotonga.

They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team in a newly established role.

Reporting to the CEO and the Board of Directors as required the role is charged with accountability for developing planning and implementing Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Risk Management strategies that align with TAU’s business strategy and commitment to employee and public safety. 

The role is responsible for ensuring TAU’s compliance with Health and Safety guidelines in a high-risk industry.

This is a hands-on position; the successful applicant will have excellent time management and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to lead initiatives to enhance health and safety standards along with the ability to communicate at all levels with the different Divisions throughout TAU.

The successful applicant will have a relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised institution with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior management leadership position to lead initiatives to enhance Health, Safety and Wellbeing throughout TAU.
