Total staff headcount: 10; most are part-time

REQUIREMENTS: 

They need a Resort Operator/General Manager with a strong commitment to live on a remote island, to manage a small, luxury boutique hotel with passion and to provide exceptional, personal guest service.  

They are seeking a couple who are flexible, creative, resilient, patient and approachable, as well as having a good sense of humour, are tenacious and generally fit and healthy.  

Skills: 

• Excellent written and spoken English; further languages very much appreciated 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and social media

• Proficient in online guest acquisition, booking platforms and Property Management System (PMS)

• Proficient in basic accounting, administration and reporting

• Good skills in management & marketing & finance 

• Good skills in F&B standards (breakfast only, private barefoot dinner), be it quality, innovation, service and presentation, as well as in housekeeping standards

• Good all-round skills to consistently maintain all aspects of the property, buildings, facilities, and gardens, and remedying problems quickly should they arise, including the best results for ecological & social sustainability   

Qualifications: 

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a hotel or related industry

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in remote places or island resorts

• Ideally, previous experience as a GM in a luxury, eco-orientated small hotel  

• Further trade qualifications as acquired

• Passionate as well as being good at problem-solving, reasoning, motivating and training & delegating abilities  

CONTRACT  

• The contract is for 3 years (preferred; minimum is 2 years) 

• The present contract comes up for renewal in mid-November 2024.  

REMUNERATION

• Annual Salary is NZD 124,800.00 for two (e.g. managing couple) - Additional bonus based on financial performance, creative marketing solutions, and innovations in sustainability. 

• 4 weeks of annual leave 

• Return airfares 

• Expat medical insurance cover

• Free on-site accommodation (comfortable furnished two-bedroom home located in the Resort) 

• Reasonable free electricity, gas, and phone rental charges (except international calls) 

• Reasonable free on-site breakfast as well as reasonable use of the resort’s E-vehicle for your personal uses 

• Costs for immigration fees associated with your working visas
