They have an exciting opportunity for a Generation Manager to join their team. It is a full-time role suitable for someone who can readily assimilate into the life and workings of the Cook Islands.
They are looking for a professional electrical engineer manager to take responsibility for the strategic direction for Te Aponga Uira’s (TAU) generation system development and major works, and the management of the operation and maintenance of all TAU’s generation assets.
In particular, the Generation Manager will lead the development and delivery of major works associated with alternative energy initiatives undertaken to support Cook Islands national renewable energy goals.
The Generation Manager will ensure compliance with strategic and regulatory requirements and will collaborate fully with TAU’s other divisional teams through consultation, cross divisional engineering support, and mentoring.
This is a senior management position; the successful applicant will need time management and problem solving skills, along with the ability to lead, train and develop a team of technical people, providing motivation and guidance, monitoring of performance and the ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels throughout TAU.
The position reports to the CEO and to the Board of Directors as required.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised qualification in electrical engineering, a proven track record of managing power generation systems with a strong technical background, and with a minimum of 6 years’ experience at a senior level in the power generation industry.
You will be required to manage generation projects from design to implementation, including project planning, budgeting and resource allocation. Expertise in and experience with renewable energy projects would be a distinct advantage.
