Te Vara Nui is Rarotonga’s premier Cultural Island Night venue. They operate 3 nights per week offering guests an expansive buffet/banquet featuring western and island cuisine… this is followed by our spectacular Over Water Show.

They have the following positions available and are seeking personnel to join them immediately. Preference given to people already living in Rarotonga.

All successful candidates will need to be reliable, honest, trustworthy, able to get on well with guests and staff plus with a high work ethic.

Senior Chef – (Full time)
This role is suited to a very experienced Chef with preferably buffet/banquet/catering experience. Knowledge of best cooking practises, systems, POS, food handling practises, stock ordering /control /costing and the ability to lead a team of cooks.

This position is a supervisory and leadership role, and is ideal for an ex-chef/restaurant supervisor who is also willing to guide/upskill our current cooks.

Driver – (Part-time)
Seeking an experienced driver (ideally with a Passenger transport licence, but this can be arranged for the right candidate).

This role includes driving a 26-seater new bus, to collect guests for our Cultural Island Night, and dropping them off at the end of the night.

Good geographical knowledge of Rarotonga and accommodations is also required.

The role is a part-time role 3 nights per week, but depending on the successful candidates’ skills, they may be able to offer other employment also.

Office/Sales and Reservations (Full time)
Seeking a bubbly outgoing person, with strong written and oral skills as well as a very good command of English.

The successful candidate will be responsible for bookings, converting inquiries into sales, cash handling, receipting and ensuring the office runs smoothly and is kept up to date.

This role is spread over 6 days, and is split shifts.
